What Writers Watch on TVTuesday, March 31, 2009When I was asked by Mystery Writers of America to write a column reviewing crime TV shows, I found out that reviewing is really hard work. I turned instead to some of my favorite writers such as Laura Lippman, Lisa Scottoline, Lisa Unger, Linda Fairstein, SJ Rozan, and of course JLB to ask them what they liked. Yea! I love it, someone mentioned Moonlighting - and Nash Bridges - and, Alafair, I LOVED 21 JumpStreet! I haven't had the opportunity to see the ones that air on cable's movie channels, but I, too, enjoy Burn Notice and Psych! One I didn't see mentioned that I really liked was Due South...and of course, Magnum P.I., Jake and the Fat Man, Riptide...good stuff.
I didn't see what Linda Fairstein said, though...what does she watch?
Jen, Oops! I had Linda in mind because Laura Lippman made a point of noting the importance of her legal work to Law & Order: SVU, but she wasn't actually among my sample. I haven't been into Burn Notice. I figure I'll get around to it on DVD once I'm done geeking out on my current shows.
